The mission of TAVITA is to explore youth potential,to develop their leadership and
intellectual skills and to promote awareness,advocacy and lobbying in issues pertaining
to development in the country

The vision of TAVITA is to have a society in which the interests of the young people
are respected and protected to enable them become part and parcel of the country

WHAT WE DO

Taswira ya Vijana Tanzania is a non Governmental organization and a  non profitable and its main objective is to provide social services to the young people and the public at large,the following are its objectives 
  • To get involved in environmental conservation and protection
  • To fight against corruption
  • To provide entrepreneurship skills
  • To create programs and projects which confine to self employment,productivity and provision of service
  • To search youth with special talents and develop them in sports and games,arts and education as well as organizing cultural festivals in Tanzania
  • To provide trainings on sports and games to different stakeholders
  • To analyze policy,laws and various NGOs and government programs as well as engaging in policy making,implementation and evaluation
  • To provide capacity building to other civil society organizations
  • To fight against poverty

HOW WE DO

The core activities of Taswira ya vijana Tanzania shall include the following a.To create employment opportunities to the youths of Tanzania,this shall be achieved through firstly employing youths in different projects that the organization shall establish and run.in the second place,Taswira ya vijana shall provide competent-based vocational training that will enable youths to be self employed.Youths of this country must be made to understand that one need to employ himself or herself through private projects and not to wait for government employment b.To fight poverty among young people of this country Taswira ya vijana recognizes that poverty is not the lack of money,instead it is lack of knowledge which leads to the lack of money.Therefore the organization shall make sure that the youths in Tanzania are well educated and trained so that they can get access to money and other material things c.To provide training programs Taswira ya vijana Tanzania shall do the following in this respect To construct and run nursery schools in Tanzania To construct and run primary schools in Tanzania To construct and run secondary schools in Tanzania To construct and run competent based vocational training colleges in Tanzania d.To get involved in environmental conservation and protection,this will be only achieved through through the following methods .To participate in creating public awareness relating to environmental protection and conservation .To educate the public prevention of soil erosion .To educate the public about the advantages of afforestation and the disadvantages of deforestation .To conduct seminars and workshops on problems caused by littering and haphazard disposal of wastes .To support the compaign related to drainage systems and cleanliness of the environment e.To train youths on entrepreneurship skills so that finally they can develop the spirit of self employment. this will be achieved through seminars,workshops,conferences and symposiums f.Taswira ya vijana shall be deeply involved with the provision of health services to the people of Tanzania This shall be achieved through .i.constructing and running dispensaries,health centers and hospitals ii.To provide health training through scholarship which TAVITA will provide through grants from donors g.The provision of clean and safe water to all Tanzanians who need it,This will be achieved through coordinating with .local government authorities .central government departments .internal and foreign donors .international NGOs .civil societies .regional integration organizations .religious institutions .united nations agencies .pressure groups .Human rights organizations .private sector foundations .individuals .private companies .parastatal organizations .multinational corporations

KIJANA NA UKOMAVU

(Elekezwa kutoka Saikolojia)
Elimunafsia (pia: saikolojia kutoka Kigiriki ψυχολογία psikhologia) ni fani ya elimu jamii inayolenga kujua nafsi ya binadamu ili kurahisisha ukomavu wake na uhusiano wake na wenzake.

Binadamu
Binadamu ni neno linalomaanisha "Mwana wa Adamu", anayeaminiwa na dini za Uyahudi, Ukristo na Uislamu kuwa ndiye mtu wa kwanza.

Ukomavu
Ukomavu wa binadamu ni hali iliyokusudiwa ifikiwe na mtu kupitia ukuaji wake.

Sifa za mtu aliyekomaa
1. Anayatambua mambo yalivyo. Anajitambua na kuwatambua wengine walivyo. Anatambua matukio pia katika sifa na kasoro. Anatambua yale anayoyaweza na yale asiyoyaweza. Hana wivu wala hofu. Anapima hali mbalimbali bila ya kufumba macho mbele ya mambo yasiyompendeza bali anatumia akili akabiliane nayo.

2. Anakubali hali ilivyo. Anajikubali na kuwakubali wengine walivyo. Akiona kasoro hachukii, bali kwanza anakubali hali ilivyo, halafu anajitahidi kuirekebisha iwezekanavyo. Hata akishindwa anakubali na kuvumilia. Vilevile anaweza kuyakubali mabadiliko na mambo mapya bila ya hofu, kwa kuwa anapima yote bila ya kufadhaika kwa kusema, “Itakuwaje?”

3. Anawajibika. Hangoji kuambiwa kila mara afanye nini na vipi, bali anaona mwenyewe anavyotakiwa kutenda, halafu anaamua kwa moyo ayatende. Ndiyo sifa kuu ya mtu aliyekomaa kweli: ana mwongozo wa maisha ndani mwake. Anazingatia pia kanuni za jamii na kusikiliza mashauri, lakini uamuzi wake unatoka ndani.

4 Anajiongoza kwa kuzingatia tunu alizojichagulia. Anaelekeza maisha yake upande fulani alivyoazimia. Katika kuamua la kufanya anafuata tunu hizo, si mkondo kama wanavyofanya kondoo.

5. Anahusiana vema na watu kwa sababu anawakubali, anawaheshimu na kuamini wanaweza kutenda mema. Anaelewa shida zao na kuwatimizia. Anawafanya wajisikie raha na kutokeza sifa zao. Mwenyewe anajisikia salama na kuwafanya washinde hofu zao na hivyo wakomae kwa urahisi zaidi.

6. Anafanikisha mipango. Ana mawazo ya kushangaza kwa kuwa mitazamo yake ni mipana na ya ndani zaidi. Mipango na miradi yake ni mingi, lakini haogopi kujaribu wala kushindwa, kwa kuwa anatambua mambo yalivyo na yanavyoweza kurekebishwa. Hivyo mara nyingi anafaulu kufanya mambo yawe alivyotaka. Mambo yaliyo magumu kwa wengine, kwake ni rahisi.

7. Anajiendeleza aishi kwa ukamilifu. Anatumia vizuri vipawa vyake vyote. Anafurahia mambo mbalimbali ya maisha na kufaidika nayo ili azidi kujiendeleza.

Pande mbalimbali za ukomavu wa mtu
1. Wa maono:
• anakubali maono yake bila ya kutawaliwa nayo; • anaweza kuyajulisha ili kusaidiwa; • anakabili magumu bila ya kuyaepa wala kuhangaika mno; • si mtu wa kujikinga kila mara.

2. Wa nafsi: • anasikiliza wengine, hatimaye anaamua mwenyewe bila ya wasiwasi mkubwa mno; • anaweza kubadili uamuzi wake akipata habari mpya; • anasema ukweli na kuchukua jukumu la uamuzi wake; • anapokea uamuzi wa watu wengine.

3. Wa jamii: • anaona wema wa watu wengine, asijifanye lengo la yote; • anafungamana vema na wengine; • ana marafiki wa kufaa; • hawategemei mno ndugu zake; • anafuata taratibu za jumuia; • analinganisha mahitaji yake na ya kikundi chake; • yuko tayari kutimiza sheria halali hata zisipompendeza • anafanya kazi hata ngumu kwa utulivu.

4. Wa maadili: • anapokea mawazo mazuri na kuyaishi; • anafuata malengo yake kwa sababu anayo ya kufaa; • anatimiza busara, haki, nguvu na kiasi; • yuko imara katika imani, tumaini na upendo.

5. Wa roho: • anafungamana vema na Mungu, malaika na watakatifu; • anamtegemea Mungu na kutimiza matakwa yake; • anaelewa wito wake, anauthamini na kudumu kwa hiari kuuitikia.

Mambo yanayozuia ukomavu
Binadamu anakusudiwa kukomaa, lakini hafanikiwi sikuzote. Tunawaona watu waliolemaa upande wa mwili, lakini wengi zaidi wamelemaa upande wa nafsi. Sababu ni kwamba mtu akikosa haja zake za msingi hawezi kustawi. Haja hizo zina nguvu sana, nazo zisipotimizwa zinamuacha mtu kilema.Mambo yanayompata hata akalemaa kinafsi yanaelezwa na mviringo ufuatao usioelekea popote:

1. Hatimiziwi haja za nafsi, ambazo ni za msingi kama zile za mwili, hivyo zisipotimizwa yanaanza matatizo.

2. Hajisikii vizuri, hata kama ni mtoto au haelewi, kwa kuwa mtu akihisi hapendwi, hatakiwi, hayuko salama, basi anajisikia vibaya mpaka ndani.

3. Anapatwa na wasiwasi unaofanya nafsi isistawi, hata kama mwili unaendelea kukua. Ndiyo sababu anashindwa kushirikiana vizuri na watu au anajitenga nao kwa kuona hawampi anayoyahitaji.

4. Kutokana na hofu hashiriki vizuri katika mambo yote. Anatambua kwamba akibaki peke yake hapati nafasi ya kupendwa, lakini anashindwa kukabili hofu yake.

5. Matokeo yake ni kwamba anajihisi hastahili kutimiziwa haja zake. Hatimaye anaweza akajichukia kama kwamba ndiye anayesababisha watu wasimtimizie haja zake.

6. Anafadhaika asijue la kufanya mbele ya matatizo hayo. Anashindwa kupata jibu kuhusu haja zake kutimizwa kesho: ikiwa leo hapati anayoyahitaji hata kwa watu wenye wajibu kwake, je, atayapata lini?

7. Anafuata njia za kujikinga na hofu hizo kusudi asiendelee kufadhaika. Moja ya njia hizo ni kusukuma ndani kabisa mwa nafsi yake yale yasiyompendeza yasielee tena katika kumbukumbu; lakini kadiri mambo hayo yalivyoshindiliwa ndani yanamvuruga na kujitokeza kwa matendo na maneno yasiyotarajiwa.

Njia nyingine ya kujikinga ni kutokubali hali halisi, yaani kukataa kukabili jambo la hatari au lisilopendeza. Njia nyingine ni kuhamisha dhihirisho la ono fulani (hasira, chuki n.k.) limlenge mtu tofauti na yule anayekusudiwa.

Njia nyingine ni kuishi katika ndoto za mchana badala ya kuwazia hali halisi: mtu anajichorea akilini picha ya ulimwengu mwingine ambapo mambo yanakwenda anavyotaka, hata akaamini ndio wa kweli.

Njia nyingine tena ni kujitafutia visingizio ili kutosikia aibu moyoni: mtu anaweza akafikia hatua ya kumshtaki mwenzake kwa kosa alilolifanya mwenyewe. Njia ya mwisho ni kudai kwamba wengine ndiyo wenye hali aliyonayo mwenyewe asiikubali.

8. Kwa kuwa njia hizo hazimtimizii haja zake, hazimsaidii ila zinamtuliza kijuujuu tu kwa muda, yaani zinafunika matatizo yake badala ya kuyatatua. Mtu amejikinga isivyofaa, basi shida inabaki palepale. Hivyo mviringo usioelekea popote umekamilika kwa kurudia namba moja: mtu anahitaji bado kupendwa, kukubaliwa, kuthaminiwa na kuwa salama. Nani atamsaidia?
